We are a church in the Anglican tradition, part of the Diocese of South Carolina, and disciples of Jesus since 1734.

We offer a range of worshiping environments, from Rite I spoken Eucharist to informal contemporary services, all as part of our mission of 'Making Biblical Anglicans for a Global Age.'

We are located on Johns Island, South Carolina, within a few hundred feet of the Angel Oak. Like that magnificent tree, we at St. John's have committed ourselves to being a sturdy oak, rooted in Jesus Christ, firm and fruitful amid the storms that buffet out changing world.

St. John's is a Christian community seeking to:

DECLARE our love for God through Anglican worship
PREPARE disciples for Jesus Christ for global ministry
SHARE the healing power of the Holy Spirit
CARE for our community

Founded in 1734, our heritage goes back far beyond: through the Anglican Tradition to the early Church and the apostles of Jesus. St John's has a long and illustrious history as a beacon for the Sea Islands and the Lowcountry.

With this grand legacy and privilege also comes great responsibility; a responsibility to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is still foremost in our charter. We are part of the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina, which receives its apostolic oversight through the Global South Primates of the Anglican Communion
