May 19-20, 2017

St. John’s Parish Church and Karitos Charleston are hosting a worship arts conference with Vivien Hibbert for the 3rd year. Originally from New Zealand, Vivien has been teaching and equipping worshippers since 1977. She is a skilled musician, an amazing Bible teacher, and is always a favorite at conferences!

This year’s theme is “Sacred Space” and will feature Workshops and Break-out sessions for visual artists, singers, and musicians. This year we will feature Indigo dyed fabric art, a class for making box drums, a basic percussion class and drum circle, drawing/art basics, journaling with art, and finding sacred space in worship for musicians and singers.

Friday May 20, 7-9pm – Worship
Saturday May 21, 10am-6pm – Workshops, lunch, more classes, and a closing Worship session from 4:30-6pm.

The Friday evening worship session is free and open to all. Saturday workshops (including lunch) are $40. Children age 10 to 17 are $20 each. Two classes (Indigo & drum making) cost an extra $10 for materials. Scholarships are available for volunteers.
