We invite you to come learn about Respite Care Charleston and the services and support for individuals with dementia and their families that will be available through the partnership between RCC & St. John’s Parish.  Please join us for the following events as we prepare for the opening of the respite program in Walton Hall.  The program will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00am-1:50pm. 

All events will be held in Walton Hall – St. John’s Parish Church

Ø  Volunteer Information and Training Session

This event is open to anyone interested in learning more about volunteering at Respite Care Charleston’s St. John’s Parish location. No commitment will be required for those who choose to attend this event--just come to learn more about how you can be a part of a successful respite program in your community.

Ø  Open House

Care partners, individuals with a diagnosis of dementia, community members, local business owners, and potential volunteers are invited to drop in to meet and greet the staff of Respite Care Charleston to learn more about services provided by the organization at the St. John’s Parish site.

Ø  1st Day of Social Day Program at St. John’s Parish

The social day program provides respite for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s and related dementias, allowing the continuation of care in the home. Program participants enjoy activities such as memory stimulating socialization, music therapy and gentle exercise, thus promoting health and well-being. During this time, caregivers are able to focus on personal needs, attend support groups, and get respite from their daily sacrifices.
