Watch Out for Scams
As we start the new year, please be on guard for scam emails and texts. There is always a rise in scams this time of year, and scammers are constantly changing tactics to try to trick us. -Undue urgency Please note that all of the St John's Parish Church staff have an email address which ends with "@stjohnsparish.net". The most effective way to check if an email is a scam is to check if the email address matches the address of who supposedly sent it. If you ever receive an email from anyone at St John's Parish Church —be it staff or parishioner— which you are unsure about, call the Parish Office. Do not reply to the email or click on any links before verifying it's authenticity. |

What's Happening in Our Children's Ministry
We are off to a great start this new year! Our children, from Pre-K though 5th grade, are learning about Jesus in His younger years and deepening their understanding of who He is and how much He loves us. Over the past few weeks, lessons have included the visit of the Wise Men, Jesus teaching in the temple as a young boy and Jesus’ baptism by His cousin, John the Baptist. This coming week, the children will learn about Jesus calling His disciples to be his helpers. We will learn how they listened and obeyed when Jesus called them saying, “Come, follow me” --Matthew 4:19. We are grateful for our teachers and volunteers who deliver His message to our children every Sunday morning and for the continued support of our parish families. Second Saturday Workday
We meet every 2nd Saturday of the month at 8AM at Resurrection Hall, beginning with breakfast and fellowship at 8AM, then from 9 to 12, we work on decks, wheelchair ramps or minor home repairs. You don’t need to bring any tools, but if you have a favorite hammer and cordless drill, that will be fine. Contact Stephen Haynsworth for more information or to be added to the text group for this ministry. |

A Prayer for our Parish
Dear Heavenly Father, Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen. |
