Welcome Back Teacher Breakfast & Giftcard Drive

Welcome Back Teacher Breakfast & Giftcard Drive

Support the teachers and staff of Haut Gap Middle School by participating in this year's gift card drive to help them purchase supplies for the new school year. Donate $25/$50 gift cards for Amazon or Walmart and secure the receipt to the card when donating. Place them or a check with "Haut Gap" on the memo line in Sunday's offering or drop off in the office by July 27. This year we need forty $50 gift cards and thirty $25 gift cards.

We will give the gift cards to the teachers and staff at a breakfast on their first day back, Tuesday, August 4, provided by St. John's Parish Church. Please also consider showing your support by helping prepare and/or serve the breakfast. Sign up with Meemee Williams in the Connection Corridor on Sunday or email Sally: sdixon@stjohnsparish.net.

We have disposable nametags available in the Connection Corridor or use a permanent one. What's Happening in Our Children's Ministry

What's Happening in Our Children's Ministry

Summer Sunday School is in full swing! Children in grades 1-5 are enjoying a relaxed summer schedule featuring movies, popcorn and lively discussion. The short films highlight the stories of the Old Testament leaders and prophets. Our youngest children, ages 3-5, are also exploring the lives of Old Testament leaders and prophets through interactive play, music, felt-board storytelling and simple crafts design just for them. While the pace for summer may be a little more relaxed, our mission remains the same: nurturing young hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God’s only Son, our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.

Ushers

Ushers

Ushers serve an important role in the life of St. John’s Parish Church on Sundays and other special services. They greet everyone as they enter the sanctuary, handing out bulletins and other papers as needed. They also assist newcomers — whether to find a place to sit, locate the nursery or maybe find the restroom. Ushers also help to collect the offering and present it at the altar. When it is time to receive communion, they help the congregation know when it is the proper time to come forward. Another very important role of an usher is to count attendance at worship services.  If you would like to find out more about being an usher, please contact Sally Dixon.

A Prayer for our Parish

Dear Heavenly Father,

Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
