Dear Saints of St. John’s Parish Church,

Recently, I asked Bishop Edgar, Fr. Arthur Jenkins, Fr. John Sosnowski, and Fr. Marc Boutan for some additional help especially on Sunday mornings — of which I am pleased to say all have been willing to provide assistance as I continue in this unknown time of neurological health problems.

Fr. Arthur and Fr. John will assist more in regular preaching and celebrating Holy Eucharist, and Bishop Edgar has offered the help of another priest, Fr. Tom Cannon. Fr. Tom is a new Anglican priest but has many years of ordained ministry experience. He was a Presbyterian (PCA) minister for 35 years before being called to the Anglican Church recently. Fr. Tom will assist by preaching twice a month for the next few months.

I will continue working a full-time schedule, though help is needed before we hire a full-time Associate Rector. That process is well-underway, but the Lord has not yet led the right associate here just yet. Please be in prayer for this process. I am hopeful to have our new associate here this summer.

In the meantime, please welcome Fr. Tom Cannon, and his wife Dawn, as they will travel here twice a month from Beaufort where Fr. Tom works full time as a teacher at Holy Trinity Classical Christian School, as well as an assisting priest at St. Helena’s Anglican Church.

Below, you can find a brief introduction and bio, and he is pictured above.

In Christ,
Fr. Jeremy+

A native of Philadelphia, Reverend Cannon earned a B.A. degree from the University of South Carolina and an M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary. He comes from the Presbyterian Church in America, where for 36 years, his ministry included work on the university campus, parish ministry, and heading up Reformed University Fellowship for the PCA in places such as Australia, New York City, and Savannah.

Tom and his wife Dawn are currently members of Saint Helena’s in Beaufort. He serves as a Humane Letters teacher and Assistant Chaplain at Holy Trinity Classical Christian School. Married for 40 years, Tom and Dawn have three adult children and two grandchildren. As an inveterate fan of Gamecock and Philadelphia sports, Tom is clearly a glutton for punishment.
