St. John’s Parish Church provided 35 “Jesus bags” to the youth at the Charleston County Youth Detention Center for the 4th of July. In addition to our big drives at Christmas and Easter, we assemble smaller bags for July 4th and the fall each year. Several parishioners expressed interest in writing cards. While we didn’t hold a big drive this time, parishioners did donate cards and some snack foods for the bags. A copy of the Gospel of John was also included. If you have interest in helping with the July 4th and fall bags in the future, please let Chrissy Binz or Libby Puckette know. As always, our goal is to share the good news of Jesus Christ with these youths and show appreciation to the staff who are caring for them. As always, please continue praying for the youth and staff of the CCJDC.
