We Are Sharing Hope, the organ procurement organization Anne Dixon works with, collects aluminum pop tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Anne would like to invite the people of St. John’s Parish Church assist her with the collection of pop tabs to help. You can either give your tabs to Anne directly on Sundays, or you can bring them to Resurrection Hall where we have collection container.
The little, seemingly insignificant tab you pull to open your aluminum cans are like gold to the RMHC. They collect these pop tabs, recycle them, and the proceeds go directly to RMHC families. When families need assistance with housing, travel costs, or clothing and hygiene items the Pop Tab funds are there to help.
RMHC collects pop tabs instead of entire aluminum cans because it is more hygienic to store tabs than cans, and collection and storage is easier. Pop tabs also are made of high-quality aluminum, without the impurities (dyes and paint) found in the rest of the can, making them valuable in recycling programs.
If it’s an aluminum can and has a pull tab, it counts:
If you can pull it, they can use it.
