Mission to Peru

Mission to Peru

November 23-28, we are sending a team to join in ministry with our brothers and sisters in the Anglican Diocese of Lima, Peru, and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Anglican Church in Peru.

This trip is a great opportunity for families to enter the mission field, and to expose our youth to different cultures. During this trip, we can expect the Lord to show us how to worship him whether we have much or little, and how our treasure resides in him, not the things of this world.

If you are interested in joining this trip or would like more information contact Ann Edenfield or Lori Moore. The deadline to sign up is April 14.

2024 Anglican Women Gathering

2024 Anglican Women Gathering

Come to this year’s Anglican Women Gathering and learn how your daily diversions may be pointing to a deeper longing in your soul. Our speaker, Joy Mast, author of Set Free & Satisfied: A Grace-Filled Guide to Stop Overeating and Start Fully Living, will share how her compulsive overeating led to a profound encounter with God, and how you can experience this intimacy as well. You’ll learn how to identify your own patterns of seeking comfort apart from God, why God is the one who offers us true, long-term satisfaction, and how to replace your bad habits with life-giving moments that refresh and sustain your soul.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers

Holy Eucharist is an important sacrament in our lives as christians. We believe Jesus is present during this service. We all want to be in the presence of our Lord, but life doesn't always allow us to take part in Holy Eucharist in a church setting. Because this is the case, Bishop Edgar and Father Jeremy authorized the Lay Eucharistic Ministers to take the Eucharist to those who are physically unable to attend a regular church service.

This is a blessed ministry. The Lay Eucharistic Ministers are able to experience the Lord’s presence in a special way as he reaches out through us to touch and minister to those who we have missed in our congregation. He allows us to share his presence and be with those who need to know that He hasn’t forgotten them, and St John's Parish Church still considers them to be an important part of our congregation.

If you'd like to serve, please contact Fr. Jeremy.

A Prayer for our Parish

Dear Heavenly Father,

Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
