Staff Appreciation

Staff Appreciation

The month of June the vestry has set aside as intentional “staff appreciation” month at St. John’s Parish Church. As you know we have an amazing group that works day to day so that we can draw near to Christ and minister in His name. Please take this opportunity to thank them --Agnes, JoAnn, Lori, Mark, Rob, Sally, Timothy and our Rector, Jeremy-- for all they do, for choosing this church and for saying YES to God’s call on their lives.

Like members of the vestry, you probably know how blessed we are because of them. This month we have an opportunity to let them know. Be creative. Be intentional, and share with our staff your appreciation and love.

Nursery & Preschool

Nursery & Preschool

Thanks to our wonderful Sunday school teachers, Claudia and Ron Boyce! Click here to see part of a lesson they taught on the Trinity. Can't do it without our volunteers.

We need adult volunteers to serve our nursery and preschool children each Sunday. Would you consider signing up to help a couple of Sundays so we can continue to pour into the next generation?

Ushers

Ushers serve an important role in the life of St. John’s Parish Church on Sundays and other special services. Some of their duties include greeting everyone as they enter the sanctuary, handing out prayer lists and other papers as needed, assisting newcomers to find their way, and helping with other parts of the service.

If you would like to find out more about being an usher, please contact Sally Dixon.  We often have couples serve together.  It is a wonderful way to worship with your spouse.   Each usher is normally scheduled for two Sundays in a row.

A Prayer for our Parish

Dear Heavenly Father,

Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
