Recognizing Birthdays & Anniversaries this Sunday

Please note, we will be recognizing Birthdays and Anniversaries this Sunday instead of the last Sunday of the month since the last Sunday is Palm Sunday.

Lenten Prayer Partners

As we continue through Lent, please remember to pray for your Lenten Prayer Partner, then on Easter Sunday, let them know you were their prayer partner.

Easter Jesus Bag Collection

Easter Jesus Bag Collection

St. John’s Parish Church has a special partnership with Charleston County Juvenile Detention Center. This partnership includes providing Jesus Bags filled with toiletries, snacks and handwritten cards of encouragement throughout the year. It’s time for the Easter Jesus Bag Collection. These bags are a true blessing to the youth, ages 13-17 years old,  housed at the Detention Center. Many have no access to toiletry items and receive no visitors. A quick stop at the Dollar Store along with a simple Easter card of encouragement can make a difference in their lives. Please consider participating. Thank you for your prayers for the youth. Click the link below for a detailed list of collection items.

What's Happening in Our Children's Ministry

What's Happening in Our Children's Ministry

We are holding first communion classes for children in first through sixth grade during the Sunday school hour on March 15, March 22 and March 29.  Fr. John Sosnowski will lead these special classes, guiding our children in understanding the meaning and purpose of Holy Communion.  This is a wonderful opportunity for learning and spiritual growth.  All children in grades 1-6 are encouraged to attend these three important Sundays of instruction and fellowship.

Acolytes

Acolytes

Acolytes are an important part of the Sunday morning liturgy. They assist at the altar, carry the processional cross, light and extinguish the candles, and assist the priest in other duties dedicated to our worship services. Currently, we have eight teenagers who faithfully serve as acolytes. Please see Fr. Jeremy if you're interested in serving the Lord and the congregation as an acolyte.

A Prayer for our Parish

Dear Heavenly Father,

Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
