Join us Sunday, October 4 at 4PM, for a liturgy of the Blessing of the Animals at Resurrection Hall. We will have treats for pets and humans alike. This is a great opportunity for fellowship for the whole family.

Fr. John Sosnowski is going with a team  to Kairos #51 at Lee Correctional Institution beginning Oct. 1, and they need dozens and dozens of cookies — home baked if possible — to give to the inmates, especially to those who do not participate in the weekend. If you are able to help support this ministry by baking cookies, please bring them to Resurrection Hall on or before Wednesday, September 30.

If you would like to be a part of our catechesis group (confirmation, reception, reaffirmation), please email Fr. Joe or contact the front office (even if you already spoke to him in person). Our first gathering will be Oct. 4th at Haut Gap in the atrium down the hall past the library at 9AM. The Haut Gap Fall Festival is Friday, October 9. We need volunteers to help with the popular donut and s'mores booths. Volunteers should arrive at 9:30, and the event ends at 11:20. Also, we are asking for donations of graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows for the s'mores. This was Mark Hocutt's speciality, and we would love to honor his legacy by continuing to offer this to the kids. Please let Lucy Jones know if you can help.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry group will meet on October 10th in Resurrection Hall at 11:15 (after DHC). Please come to share projects and proposals and to see our new storage cabinet. We are looking for volunteers to serve in our Pre-K, 1st–2nd Grade, and 3rd–5th Grade classes. No lesson preparation is required for assistant teachers. Simply join the class, support the lead teacher, and help our children stay engaged in the lesson. For more information contact Angie Baughman.

We are excited to prepare another wonderful year of Sunday School at St. John’s Parish Church! Children 3 years old through 5th grade are invited to join us each Sunday as we learn about God’s love through Bible stories, prayer, crafts, music, and fellowship. Parents, please see Angie Baughman after Sunday's service to complete a 2026–2027 Sunday School registration form and sign the photo release authorization for your child.

Bishop Edgar and Father Jeremy authorized the Lay Eucharistic Ministers to take the Eucharist to those who are unable to attend a regular church service. The Lay Eucharistic Ministers serve in a special way as they reach out through them to touch and minister to those who we have missed in our congregation. God allows them to share His presence with those who need to know He hasn’t forgotten them, and they are still a part of the St. John's Parish Church family.
