Easter Jesus Bag Collection
Collection Deadline is this Sunday, March 29. St. John’s Parish Church has a special partnership with Charleston County Juvenile Detention Center. This partnership includes providing Jesus Bags filled with toiletries, snacks and handwritten cards of encouragement throughout the year. It’s time for the Easter Jesus Bag Collection. These bags are a true blessing to the youth, ages 13-17 years old, housed at the Detention Center. Many have no access to toiletry items and receive no visitors. A quick stop at the Dollar Store along with a simple Easter card of encouragement can make a difference in their lives. Please consider participating. Thank you for your prayers for the youth. Click the link below for a detailed list of collection items.

Chadwick Becks accepts Sexton Position
It is with great joy that I [Fr. Jeremy] announce Chadwick Becks has accepted the position of Sexton for St. John's Parish Church. He will officially begin duties this Sunday March 29. There is no replacing our dear friend Mark Hocutt or his ministry; however, we look forward to the new ministry Chadwick will bring in service, preparation, and willingness to facilitate this role with grace and aptitude. Please join me in welcoming Chadwick to the staff! Additionally, we are eternally grateful for the service of so many volunteers these last two months in cleaning, preparing, set-up, take-down, and so much more. I want to particularly thank Lindy and Debbie Reynolds and Miles Hanckel for their selfless service at Resurrection Hall. |

What's Happening in Our Children's Ministry
We are holding first communion classes for children in first through sixth grade during the Sunday school hour on March 15, March 22 and March 29. Fr. John Sosnowski will lead these special classes, guiding our children in understanding the meaning and purpose of Holy Communion. This is a wonderful opportunity for learning and spiritual growth. All children in grades 1-6 are encouraged to attend these three important Sundays of instruction and fellowship. Lay Readers
The Lay Readers serve during our Sunday service as well as any other worship services we have throughout the year. Most Sundays we have two Lay Readers to read the lessons and psalm as well as lead us in the Prayers of the People. This ministry often goes hand in hand with being a Eucharistic minister to help with communion; however this is not always the case. For more information or to express interest in becoming a Lay Reader, contact Sally Dixon. |

A Prayer for our Parish
Dear Heavenly Father, Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen. |
