St John's Senders Brunch

Support Mission to Uganda - Saturday, June 29, 2024

Join us June 29th at 10AM for a brunch dedicated to supporting and sending our team going to Uganda this July.

At the brunch, we are having an auction to raise funds to support the team's ministry in Uganda. Many items have been donated for the auction including, but not limited to:
• A three night stay at a Seabrook Island Vacation House
• A walking tour of Downtown Charleston
• Three hours from an organizing service
• An Italian Creme Cake baked by Lassie Locklaire

As a missional church, we are not only devoted to ministry trips, but excited to join together with our brothers and sisters around the globe. Come to the Senders Brunch to show your support as senders of the Uganda Team, whether it be by bidding on items, being someone who donated an item, helping to host the brunch or simply lifting the team up in prayer, your support will help build the Kingdom.

Provincial Assembly

Pray for the election of the next Archbishop of the ACNA and for the Provincial Gatherings June 20-28.

The College of Bishops of the ACNA will gather in conclave to discern the calling of a new Archbishop and Primate of the Province beginning June 20th. Archbishop Beach has called the Province to prayer as this discernment and selection process occurs before Provincial Assembly. Look for news from Bishop Chip and Beth Edgar and the more than 20 members of the ADOSC who will be attending the Assembly activities.

June Birthdays & Anniversaries

Due to Confirmation Sunday falling on the fourth Sunday this month, we will recognize and bless those with June birthdays and anniversaries on the fifth Sunday, June 30, instead.

Remember when you first walked into church how difficult it was remembering someone’s name you just met? Name tags help us put a name with a face. Please, let’s help our newcomers by wearing our name tag each Sunday. (If it helps, leave your name tag(s) in your car, out of direct sunlight).

Nursery & Preschool

Thanks to our wonderful Sunday school teachers, Claudia and Ron Boyce! Click here to see part of a lesson they taught on the Trinity. Can't do it without our volunteers.

We need adult volunteers to serve our nursery and preschool children each Sunday. Would you consider signing up to help a couple of Sundays so we can continue to pour into the next generation?

Ministry of the Week

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry provides hand-crafted shawls to give comfort and warmth to those experiencing illness, sorrow, need, or distress. We also provide baby blankets to celebrate the newly baptized. Makers pray as they create the shawls and blankets which are then blessed by our clergy.

Though we have a team to craft the shawls, it is up to every member of St John's Parish Church to identify who to give them to. If you know someone who could benefit by receiving one or if you are interested in crafting the shawls, please contact Susan Neville or Polly Sosnowski.

A Prayer for our Parish

Dear Heavenly Father,

Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit,
