Celebrating the Ministry of Miles Hanckel

Celebrating the Ministry of Miles Hanckel

We would like to recognize one of our parishioners, Miles Hanckel.

Miles can often be found outside before our church luncheons preparing delicious BBQ and accompanying sides for the entire congregation. More frequently, however, Miles diligently serves as an usher on Sunday mornings. In his free time Miles enjoys fishing, hunting, and boating, but regardless of what he is doing, he normally has a distinguished grin on his face.

Charleston County Youth Detention Center

St. John’s Parish Church has a special partnership with the Charleston County Youth Detention Center. The parish ministers to the youth through prayer, cards and gift bags of toiletries and snacks throughout the year. St. John’s parishioners provide cards with personal notes sharing God’s love, hope and encouragement.  St. John’s also addresses special needs for the Detention Center as needed. As opportunities arise throughout the year for collections, parishioners will be notified of the need for donations through announcements and in the ENEWS. For more information contact Chrissy Binz or Libby Puckette.

A Prayer for our Parish

Dear Heavenly Father,

Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
