Celebrating the Ministry of Walt Miller
We would like to recognize Walt Miller for his years of dedicated ministry at St. John's Parish Church, and the Godly wisdom he's shared with all of us. Walt's gentle words and Christ like spirit has brought us opportunity to share the Gospel in church and outside the bounds of St. John's Parish Church. Faithfully your outreach at the Charleston County Juvenile Detention Center has had life changing impact on the youth in that institution. And we thank you for leading Bible studies, serving on the vestry, prayer team, and for being an example of a servant's heart. Thank you Walt! |

A Prayer for Memorial Day
O King and Judge of the nations: We remember before you with grateful hearts the men and women of our armed forces, who in the day of decision ventured much for the liberties we now enjoy; grant that we may not rest until all the people of this land share the benefits of true freedom and gladly accept its disciplines; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, now and for ever. Amen. (Book of Common Prayer p. 636) |
A Prayer for our Nation
Almighty God, who hast given us this good land for our heritage: Bless our land and people with honor, integrity, and good conduct. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom, in thy Name, we entrust the authority of government, that there be justice and peace for all citizens. Fill our hearts with thankfulness and grant us grace to put our trust in Christ alone; all of this we ask through our Savior Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Adapted from the Prayer for Our Nation, Book of Common Prayer p. 657).

A Prayer for our Parish
Dear Heavenly Father, Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen. |
