A Friendly Reminder:

Please remember when writing your checks for the church to put "St. John's Parish Church" in the Pay to the Order of line. Then designate what it is for in the memo line. There are several St. John's churches in the area and the banks require our full name listed on the check.

What's Happening in Our Children's Ministry

What's Happening in Our Children's Ministry

Summer Sunday School is in full swing! Children in grades 1-5 are enjoying a relaxed summer schedule featuring movies, popcorn and lively discussion. The short films highlight the stories of the Old Testament leaders and prophets. Our youngest children, ages 3-5, are also exploring the lives of Old Testament leaders and prophets through interactive play, music, felt-board storytelling and simple crafts design just for them. While the pace for summer may be a little more relaxed, our mission remains the same: nurturing young hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God’s only Son, our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.

Global Mission

Global Mission

Jesus said, "All authority in Heaven and earth has been given to me, therefore, go and make disciples of all nations..." (Matt. 28:18-19). We have relationships with both the Anglican Diocese of Northern Uganda and the Anglican Church of Peru. Join us after worship this Sunday for an informational luncheon at Resurrection Hall to learn more about these relationships, discuss the importance of the sender's role in foreign missions and look at the details of our upcoming trip to Peru this November. Come see how you can get involved whether it be by going on a mission trip or filling the role of a sender.

A Prayer for our Nation

Almighty God, who hast given us this good land for our heritage:  Bless our land and people with honor, integrity, and good conduct. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom, in thy Name, we entrust the authority of government, that there be justice and peace for all citizens. Fill our hearts with thankfulness and grant us grace to put our trust in Christ alone; all of this we ask through our Savior Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

(Adapted from the Prayer for Our Nation, Book of Common Prayer p. 657).

A Prayer for our Parish

Dear Heavenly Father,

Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
