Back to School: Gift Card Drive and Teacher Breakfast
Support the teachers and staff of Haut Gap Middle School by participating in this year's gift card drive to help them purchase supplies for the new school year. Donate $25/$50 gift cards for Amazon or Walmart and secure the receipt to the card when donating. Place them or a check with "Haut Gap" on the memo line in Sunday's offering or drop off in the office by July 27. This year we need thirty-eight $50 gift cards and twenty-two $25 gift cards. We will give the gift cards to the teachers and staff at a breakfast on their first day back, Monday, August 4, provided by St. John's Parish Church. Please also consider showing your support by helping with the breakfast. How you can help:
Sign up with Sally Frazier on Sunday or email sdixon@stjohnsparish.net. For more infomation visit: http://stjohnsparishchurch.com/news/back-to-school-gift-card-drive-and-teacher-breakfast |

ARDF Texas Flood Relief
ARDF is working with the North American Lutheran Church to help identify needs and coordinate response efforts early in the coming week, including the delivery of flood relief supplies from ACNA churches in the area with Disaster Response Warehouses. While that is still in the works, donations are always welcome to help relief efforts, and please pray. Click here for more info. |

July 4 Jesus Bags Delivered to Detention Center
St. John’s Parish Church provided 35 “Jesus bags” to the youth at the Charleston County Youth Detention Center for the 4th of July. In addition to our big drives at Christmas and Easter, we assemble smaller bags for July 4th and the fall each year. Several parishioners expressed interest in writing cards. While we didn’t hold a big drive this time, parishioners did donate cards and some snack foods for the bags. If you have an interest in helping with the July 4th and fall bags in the future, please let Chrissy Binz or Libby Puckette know. As always, our goal is to share the good news of Jesus Christ with these youths and show appreciation to the staff who are caring for them. As always, please continue praying for the youth and staff of the CCJDC. For more infomation visit: http://stjohnsparishchurch.com/news/july-4-jesus-bags-delivered-to-detention-center |

Celebrating the Ministry of Grace Fayette
Grace has been such a blessing to St John’s Parish Church as a faithful member of our worship team. She also always helped with the setup/teardown at Haut Gap with a smile. Thank you, Grace, for sharing so much of your talent and heart with our church. Now Grace is attending Wheaton College, but we will always consider her a member of our church family. We are grateful to the Lord for her servant’s heart and ministry at St. John's Parish Church. |

Acolytes
Acolytes are an important part of the Sunday morning liturgy. They assist at the altar, carry the processional cross, light and extinguish the candles, and assist the priest in other duties dedicated to our worship services. Currently, we have eight teenagers who faithfully serve as acolytes. Please see Fr. Jeremy if you're interested in serving the Lord and the congregation as an acolyte. |

A Prayer for our Parish
Dear Heavenly Father, Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen. |
