St. John’s Parish Church Brings Christmas Blessings to the CCJDC
St. John’s Parish Church provided 50 Chick Fil A boxed lunches on December 16 to the Charleston County Juvenile Detention Center’s youth and staff. Members of St. John’s Parish Church were allowed to hand deliver the meals along with a devotional and an offering of prayer. The youth and the staff were very thankful. Pictured at the Detention Center from left are: Major D. Harris, Aesperita Pinckney (Community Coordinator), Walt Miller, Libby Puckette and Chrissy Binz. Please note that the mural in the background is one of many that Claudia Boyce is overseeing along with Cynthia Hutson. St. John’s Parish Church also collected toiletries, goodies and handwritten cards of encouragement for 40 Christmas Jesus Bags this year. The youth at the Charleston County Juvenile Detention Center will receive them on Christmas Eve. Thanks to the parish each youth will receive 16 cards each! The youth are all very excited to receive these bags, especially the cards! Thank you to all who participated and sent prayers up for the youth.

What's Happening in Our Children's Ministry
Our Sunday School kids have been learning about Moses, a faithful shepherd who listened to God’s voice, along with other Bible heroes like Jonah and David. Each lesson teaches stewardship and thanksgiving, helping children grow in gratitude and faith. We’re so thankful for our amazing volunteers who make each Sunday special! Acolytes
Acolytes are an important part of the Sunday morning liturgy. They assist at the altar, carry the processional cross, light and extinguish the candles, and assist the priest in other duties dedicated to our worship services. Currently, we have eight teenagers who faithfully serve as acolytes. Please see Fr. Jeremy if you're interested in serving the Lord and the congregation as an acolyte. |

A Prayer for our Parish
Dear Heavenly Father, Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen. |
