Celebration Sunday Lunch

Celebration Sunday Lunch

This Sunday, November 9, 2025 | Noon-2PM

Don't forget, this Sunday, November 9, we are having a parish-wide lunch to celebrate how far we've come with the Higher Ground campaign. Following Sunday worship, we will head over to the Island Porch (160 Main Rd Unit A, Johns Island, SC 29455) and enjoy a catered meal and fellowship with one another.

2026 Operating Budget & Higher Ground Pledge Cards

Please remember to turn in your 2026 Operating Budget pledge cards as well as your Higher Ground capital campaign pledge cards by November 16 at the latest. Drop them in the offering plate on Sunday, drop them off at Resurrection Hall or give them to Sally Dixon. If you did not receive one or misplaced yours, ask Sally.

2nd Saturday Workday

We meet at 8am this Saturday in Resurrection Hall for coffee and breakfast, then we have several jobs including replacing rotted floors, handrails and adding wheelchair ramps. We are looking for joyful volunteers who can work under guidance.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child

The Operation Christmas Child outreach deadline is approaching. If you did not get a box and would like one, they are available at Resurrection Hall until we run out. After that, you may use your own shoebox for packing or go online to pack one! Please remember that if your toy requires batteries, please include them in the box with a few extra as well. Boxes are due back by Sunday, November 16. You may drop them off at Resurrection Hall or bring to church at Haut Gap. Remember to pray for your recipient and his/her family. Thank you for participating in this wonderful evangelism opportunity.

Fall Jesus Bags Delivered to Detention Center

Fall Jesus Bags Delivered to Detention Center

St. John’s Parish recently delivered 40 Fall Jesus Bags for the youth at the Charleston County Juvenile Detention Center. The bags included treats, deodorant and cards of encouragement. The youth look forward to receiving these bags throughout the year. St. John’s Parish has a longstanding partnership with the Detention Center that continues to flourish. A parish-wide collection for the Christmas Jesus Bags will be announced in late November. Please continue to pray for the youth to open their hearts to Jesus.

A Friendly Reminder

Please remember when writing checks to the church to use "St. John's Parish Church" on the name line. The bank works with more than one St. John's and will not accept checks unless the name matches exactly. Thank you.

What's Happening in Our Children's Ministry

What's Happening in Our Children's Ministry

We are excited about our curriculum lovingly crafted by the St. John's Parish Church Children’s Ministry Team. Drawing from both Ms. Pam’s lessons and God’s Big Story curriculum, our teachings will guide children through the major themes of the Bible in a way that is engaging and age-appropriate. In the weeks ahead, children will explore God’s Word through the stories of the Old Testament, discovering timeless truths along the way.

All children ages 0 through 5th grade are warmly invited to join us each Sunday during the service from 10–11 AM. If you’d like to volunteer or help introduce a new child to our program, please reach out to us at childrensministry@stjohnsparish.net.

Blessing Baskets

Blessing Baskets

Blessing Baskets distributes about 400 government boxes of food staples to people on the sea islands, which come prepackaged with addresses. In addition to those boxes, Blessing Baskets packs perishable foods in bags to supplement the boxes and to give to people not eligible for government assistance. This is where we need help. Packing these bags is a huge undertaking from gathering, sorting, and packing the food into bags and its distribution. For more information, please contact Walt Miller or Heath Gunther.

A Prayer for our Parish

Dear Heavenly Father,

Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
