Hurricane Preparedness Survey

Hurricane Preparedness Survey

Summer is almost here. For coastal South Carolina, that means now is the time to prepare for storm season. Do you have a hurricane preparedness plan? Are you planning to evacuate if the order is given? Do you need help evacuating? Many members of the parish are preparing to help each other in case a major storm strikes the area.

St. John’s Parish Church is aiming to get a completed Hurricane Preparedness Survey for every family in our parish. Click here to fill out the survey. The survey will also be available at Resurrection Hall and at Haut Gap on Sundays for the next few weeks. Please fill out the survey and return it to the parish office, so we can update our disaster survey needs list.

The International Order of St Vincent

The International Order of St Vincent (OSV) is a worldwide fellowship of lay sanctuary ministers of all ages serving the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We promote liturgical knowledge, understanding of ritualistic detail and meaning, and encourage intercessory prayer and holy living among our members. The OSV is sacramentally centered and encourages living a rule of life (we pray, worship, read, and give).

Do You Have a Story to Tell?

Do You Have a Story to Tell?

St. John's Parish Church is working on a new publication to share how the Lord is moving in our parish. Have you been moved by how the Lord is working in your life? Have you participated in a ministry or event and seen His presence? Consider sharing your testimony so others may see the Lord's glory.

Please submit your story to Timothy as a Word compatible document without exceeding 1000 words. If you are not comfortable writing, please still contact Timothy. We will work with you.

Summer Mission to Uganda

We are sending a team to Uganda, July 14-28. Their goals for this trip are to equip leaders in partnership with the Mothers Union and Janani Luwum Theological College, to collaborate with Mama Bishop Aida to offer a mini-coference for wives of clergy, and to share the gospel story in schools, villages, and orphanages in engaging and creative ways. Please be in prayer for everyone on the team as they prepare for the trip, for safe travel to and from Uganda, and that God will bless their ministry while in Uganda.

A Prayer for our Parish

Dear Heavenly Father,

Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
