What's Happening in Children's Ministry?
We are excited to share that on Sunday, September 7, St. John’s Parish Church will celebrate Sunday School promotion day and will honor our Sunday School children (Pre-K through 5th grade) during the 10:00 AM worship service at Haut Gap Middle School. Parents, please bring your children at 9:45AM to the Sunday School classroom hallway at HGMS. We will have a special procession of the children and teachers into worship. We look forward to celebrating our children as a church family on this special day. Thank you for helping your child take part in our Lord’s Children’s Ministry program at St. John’s Parish Church. Ushers
Ushers serve an important role in the life of St. John’s Parish Church on Sundays and other special services. They greet everyone as they enter the sanctuary and hand out bulletins and other papers as needed. They also assist newcomers to find their way — whether to find a place to sit, locate the nursery or to find the restroom. Ushers also help to collect the offering and present it at the altar. When it is time to receive communion, they help the congregation know when it is the proper time to come forward. Another important role of an usher is to count attendance at worship services. If you would like to find out more about being an usher, please contact Sally Dixon. We often have couples serve together. It is a wonderful way to worship with your spouse. Each usher is normally scheduled for two Sundays in a row. |

A Prayer for our Parish
Dear Heavenly Father, Together we are united with the saints of the household of God; built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone. In Christ alone our church is being joined together, and is growing into a holy temple of the Lord by the Spirit. By Your wisdom may we discern what You want us to build; Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen. |
